Twenty-three days. That's how long Calgary has to wait before the entire country descends on it. The 113th Grey Cup kicks off at McMahon Stadium on Sunday, November 15, 2026 — and if the last few weeks of the CFL season are any indication, the road there is going to be absolute chaos. In the best way.

This is the sixth time Calgary has hosted the big game (1975, 1993, 2000, 2009 and 2019 came before), and the city is going all in. The Cenovus Energy Grey Cup Festival takes over Stampede Park from November 11 to 14 — four days of concerts, pancake breakfasts, team parties, family programming and nightly drone shows — before the whole thing funnels into McMahon on Sunday for kickoff at 6 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. MT.

Grey Cup 2026 date, tickets and how to watch

Let's get the practical stuff out of the way. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster, starting at $280.74 including fees — and the league says they're already close to 50% sold out. If you're planning to be in that stadium, this is not a "wait and see" situation.

Can't make it to Calgary? Coverage is everywhere: TSN, CTV, RDS and Crave across Canada, CBS Sports Network in the U.S., and the league's free streaming platform CFL+ internationally. Nobody has an excuse to miss this one.

113th Grey Cup halftime show: Riley Green, Sarah McLachlan and a Snowbirds farewell

The entertainment lineup is genuinely stacked. Country star Riley Green headlines the Bud Light Grey Cup Halftime Show. Sarah McLachlan sings O Canada — which, if you've ever heard 30,000 Canadians join in on that, you know it's a moment. Blue Rodeo's Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor handle the pre-game, and the James Barker Band opens the SiriusXM Kickoff Show.

But the detail that got me: the Canadian Forces Snowbirds will fly the Grey Cup flypast in what the CFL calls their final Grey Cup appearance. It's the Snowbirds' 55th anniversary year, and their CT-114 Tutor aircraft retire after the 2026 season. If you're in the stadium for that flyover, pay attention. You won't see it again.

Grey Cup playoffs 2026: the bracket is still a mess

Here's where it gets fun. The Grey Cup playoffs start October 31 — yes, Halloween — with the Division Semi-Finals. Toronto hosts the Eastern Semi-Final at 1 p.m. ET, and the Western Semi-Final kicks off at 4:30 p.m. ET with the host still to be determined. The Division Finals follow on November 7: Montreal hosts the East Final at 3 p.m. ET, Edmonton the West Final at 6:30 p.m. ET.

And the final regular-season weekend — this weekend — decides everything. Four games: Montreal at Toronto (Friday, 7 p.m. ET), Winnipeg at B.C. (Friday, 10 p.m. ET), Ottawa at Hamilton and Edmonton at Saskatchewan (both Saturday, 3 p.m. ET). The short version: Winnipeg only makes the playoffs with a win at B.C. Calgary, which has no game this week, gets in only if Winnipeg loses. Saskatchewan is in either way. One weekend, three teams' seasons on the line.

The oddsmakers, for what it's worth, like Montreal (+150) after the Alouettes locked up first in the East at 13-4. Edmonton (+300) and B.C. (+400) round out the favorites. But Grey Cup playoffs have a way of making odds look silly — that's rather the point of November football in Canada.

Why this Grey Cup feels bigger than usual

I'll be honest: there's something about this one. A Saturday-night... no, a Sunday-night championship in a football-mad city, a halftime show with real star power, a farewell flypast, and a playoff bracket that comes down to the final weekend. The festival kicks off on Remembrance Day with a military acknowledgement, which feels exactly right for the week.

Twenty-three days. Book the flight, buy the ticket, find a warm coat. Calgary in November doesn't mess around — and neither does the Grey Cup.
